Did a search but didn't find anything. Does anyone know the thread pitch/size of the fuel rail shrader valve? I want to install one on a non-Ford vehicle ( I know, shame on me) to ease maintenance. Thanks for your input.

brownfoot, Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for the other end thread pitch/size. I have 2 fords an 88 Ranger & an 89 E-250, but this application is for a 95 Geo Tracker. I want to put a Ford Schrader valve in the Geo fuel rail end plug so I have to tap the plug. I pulled the valve from an approx. late 80s early 90's Ford Taurus (sp?). It appears to be a 6mm x 1.00 but I need confirmation before I proceed. Thanks again

Yes, that was the size. After your post I looked up the 1/16 NPT and it's 27 threads per inch, same as a 1/8 NPT, which I have, and compared to the Shrader valve. Looks the same! Big box stores don't carry them but I found one in a tool and die supply catalog so I'll check the availability. Thanks again for your and brownfoot's help. Dave

 

LxMan1, It was indeed a 1/16 NPT. I did a little research and it seems that there is a pipe thread for fuel, NPTF. That is what I used, 1/16 NPTF. The parts went together well and I used a little Permatex thread sealant also. Thanks again for your help. Dave
