After a buying a swtich and doing mod, and finding out swtich was different. But did figure out how to do mod to the BK swtich.
Here is what I did and it all works great..
To take switch out of truck use skinny screw driver and put it into slot on bottom of switch and pull swtich out..
First thing to d is remove the know. I used a small screw driver to remove it. 1st picture show where to place screw driver and 2nd shows what you are pushing to allown know to slide off.
Then have to take switch apart-- Flip it over and you will notice little palstic welds around the edge. I used a razor and cut them off so face plate could come off. Once they are removed and faceplate will slide forward, have to push the clip on the front that held knob on so faceplate can come all the way off.. Look in 2nd picture above..
Once face plate is off you have to modify the plastic which the switch rides on. There is an angle, on the plastic that has to be moved. Can see in picture by black line. Use a dremel and grind plastic so that ramp is moved. That allows switch to be pulled out in the park light position. Can slide facplate back on switch to test. Thats what I did and when it pulled out in park I was done. be sure to ge ramp close to its stock shape, that way when you turn light off everything goes off. And is slides smooth. To steep and switch will be hard to move into off position.
Once all this is done, re-install faceplate. I used adheisive to mate face plate and swtich back together. Now time for the electrical work in truck..
There are 2 plugs. You need to work on with the most wires(bigger plug). Need to use scotch locks to and a small piece of wire. The wires you want are the brown one and white with black stripe. Cut the white w/blk stripe wire, and be sure to allown enough wire for splice. After that wire is cut, splice the brown sire and white w/blk stripe wire togther using the scotch locks and spare piece..
And ready to go... Just be sure to cut the white wire or you will be popping fuses if you dont..

In the early years of Expeditions you couldn't turn on the fog lights without the headlights, the ramp he is cutting off the switch prevented it. Not sure where the cross over happened, but by '03 they could be operated independantly.

High beams simultaneously with the foglights w/ this mod?
Nice tutorial, thanks for the effort. This is not anywhere else on the web, i've been looking!
Yea can run fog lights with high beams and park lights. And it all works like stock. No extar switchs in the INT and everything turns off like normal switch turned to off posistion.

Thanks again, will perform this mod on my 2000 f150 next weekend when it's not snowing in new england.. I definitely have this switch as I was looking to mod it when I had to fix the intermittent odometer a few weeks back.
Next mod after this one is setting up some relays to keep the low beams on when the high beams are switched on.
By doing this (cutting white/black and splicing to brown), does this make the fog lights come on with runners (parking lights) ?
I have a 2001 EB expedition, and it has automatic lights, I have a position to the LEFT of OFF which is automatic. Basically I just want my fog lights on with the parking lights come on regardless if I've pulled out the switch lever....
That way my fog lamps will come on when my parking lights (yellow runner lights) are on, and when my automatic lights come on

You will need to splice the brown wire to yellow I think... But check to make wure with you test light.. Basically what you want to do is, splce it into thewire that runs from switch to fog light realy so it power up when ever park lights are on. I wired mine so it power the switch, so switch has to be pulled, for the realy to get power..

Man, I searched for ever and google never came up with that. Only one it would bring up is the other swtich. One where you had to flip knob around... Figures after I did it would find a how to....

Ok... Many thanks for posting this link.. Great pictures and instructions on there for this whole mod. To clear up something that was not apparent to me (and possibly others) even AFTER you mod (grind/file) the collar for the knob, you still have to jumper #2 (white/black) to #12 (brown) - and you do NOT have to cut any of the wires, just splice 2 together... (#2 + #12)
I took my switch apart for 2 reasons, the lamp inside was blown - then I realized its a soldered on bulb of somekind - which I couldn't easily get to to remove, I got the eerie feeling I was gonna break something by trying, so I gave up on replacing the bulb in there. The LED for the fog light indicator works tho.
So I did this mod the right way according the link above.... I used my dremel to grind the knob collar to allow the switch to pull out in the Parking light position, the headlight position and the Automatic position! and I used a hand file to extend the notch of the knob shaft so when I pull the knob out in the automatic position - it clicks, so it all feel's like it comes like that from the factory!
Then I tested everything, and the fog lights only came on with the headlights - so then I jumpered #2 (black/white) to #12 (brown) and then the fog lights started working in the parking lights position.............. I'M A HAPPY CAMPER!
If anyone else decides to go thru with this, make sure you've got the following:
A) Glue for plastic of somekind, krazy glue, super glue, etc... If you open the knob housing - you have to remove the little heat weld "bumpys" that hold it all together, so you'll have to glue it back together again. B) Rubberbands or something to keep the faceplate pressed against the rest of the housing after glueing it back together. In simple terms, you have to take the faceplate off, and when you glue it, you have to keep it pressed together until it all bonds. C) ENOUGH TIME TO LET THE GLUE BOND. That's the ONLY thing I didn't take into consideration when I started this whole process.
I had to cut the wire for my truck. When I didnt the fog lights wouldnt go off unless swtich was completley off. And sometimes would blow a fuse. Cut the wire and its been fine ever since..

I don't know what's the difference - I didn't cut anything, I actually stripped a little of the wire casing back on each #2+#12 and used another wire to jumper them together, and taped everything back together.... PRESTO - No problem
