I run a K&N filter in my 73 ford, and I rarely have to clean it. And I'm constantly going out playing in the mud, climbing rocks, etc. I also have a 94 dodge that I have a filtercharger on, which has gotten me a few more ponies and I play in that too, and It hasnt need cleaning for quite a while. They even send you cleaning kits for the filterchargers. Just remember you get what you pay for!

without regard to AZ conditions.....
you asked about high silicon content in oil analisys. I've heard problems, on other vehicles, with mass air flow meter faults attributed to the oil in K&N filters. Anyone have problens with that in the Fords?

I have of having mass aif flow sensor problems, but only when applying too much oil and it ssems throguh then gets sucked onto the filter.
The problem could also be after market meters, I know when I had the stock meter on my car I had no problems, I've had a pro-m for about a year now and I have to clean every so often of I have problems. I k=just bought a C & L so we will see how it goes with that one.
