Question Best Truck for the Buck

Whats the best truck for the price?
How many miles can I get out of a 250 or 150??
Is there any pricy maintenance issues that come about around 100k miles?
250 n/a or turbo??

So I am looking into buying a new truck. Looking at either the 150 or 250. I love them both but am wondering which is the best deal. I dont have much to spend so will be buying used. I have about 20k to spend. Most trucks around that price that I have been interested in tend to have between 80-100k miles on them (at least the 250's are.).

Any help and/or suggestions help... Thanks

You haven't really gave us much to go on mate, for example, you going to be using to truck as a daily driver, gonna use it for light towing, heavy towing, weekend four wheeling ect?

For starters I would simply suggest any F-150 with a non-triton motor, for fuel economy, should be pretty easy to find a newer one around $20K, although a good all around truck would be a F-250 with a powerstroke which would pretty much leave all doors opened for ya, and they are common enough that a decent price shouldn't be too hard at all to find. I can say this also, my father owned a 04' F-150 with the 5.4 triton, and while the gas wasn't great (it is a truck afterall :P) it was driven all over the US while the had it, before they traded it in last year, it was over 400K miles on it and as I recall it had no problems. I tried to give him $9K for it but he refused and then he got less than that from the dealer , althought any diesel motor can easily last 500K miles if you take care of it and I don't mean just changing the fluids.

I had't bought a new truck since my 85....I traded my 92 F150 XLT SC long box, using the cash for clunkers deal (that was the first $4500), with all the incentives and dickering I got my 09 (stickered for 26k) for 18.3 (tax incl). I'm over 50 and the kids are all grown so I didn't need the S cab or S Crew, got a reg cab 8' box 4.6l 3v
I'm not saying you NEED new, but just to put things in price perspective: This dealer in Kansas has quite a selection (other than their adds I know nothing about them)

Hey thanks to both of ya (sorry for the delayed response). The truck would be a daily driver so gas is more on the important side. But the truck will be used like its a truck. However, it wont be hauling any farm equipment or anything of the sort. I was looking more into the 250 powerstrokes than I was into the 150s. My only dilemma is Im going to be putting money into the truck (ex: lift, tires ect.). In looking into some pricing, it would be nice to find one with some of that already done. I almost need to have a crew cab. I have people in and out of my back seats all day and 2 doors just wont do it. So with these type of options is it possible to stay around 20k?? and with 100k+ miles, do I need to worry? How long do the turbos tend to last?
