Intake ?'s Dove CJ SCJ Boss?

Got a mod-bogger project in the works and I am putting a set of dove-c heads (have been 2.25/1.75'ed allready) on an old Dive block and want to remain in the stock class (external stock).

What stock intake manifolds will fit on my heads? (CJ, SCJ, Boss) Do they have different ports (oval , round)? What's the best bang for my limited buck?

A buddy has some cat iron exhaust manifolds that are real header-looking with individual tubes almost schwoopin' back - look like just the ticket.

But the intake question is where I am at now... I am gonna ask some cam/carb/manifold questions in a month or two.

THANKS!!!

DOVE heads are NOT one of the performance heads like CJ you just need the standard style intake as those are standard passenger car heads.

YOu most definitely couldn't put boss intake on that is a COMPLETELY different animal.

What make them in-compatible?
Is it port size?
Is it a small enough diff so some port work on the heads would help?
How do I get some decent flow without going to an aftermarket intake? - which throws me out of a pure stock class - then I might as well follow everyone else and do the three allowed mods, (usually intake, carb, headers)

Me thinks this SCJ intake might wake up the 460... This is an OMC Marine 460 and it has D3 heads with the SCJ 4V Holley manifold; that's the way they did it! Lots of cool stuff on this thing, too bad it looks like it spent some time on the bottom of the sea.

Never mind i re-read .... sorry i see its a holley now.

I have a bow-tie friend that swears the quad is the best carb - when they work right.

No, the ports don't match up but that didn't stop Ford from using it.

It's a 600, I think. What's wrong with Holley?? A Holley carb is stock on the 460. The only use I've found for a Q-Jet is as a door stop on my garage

There is a HUGE mismatch in port sizes which ford got away with becuase they weren't looking for all out HP on those industrial engines and had a bunch of left over intakes they needed to use.

the ports not only aren't the same size they are actually offset slightly too, you can hog the heads out close (but not completely) but it takes a LOT of work.
