flamebuster is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I guess Fords get around in most conditions and are reliable enough that people arn't too worried, either that or global warming has eliminated most of our severe winters...

I used to carry one of them big ole saint bernards with the keg around his neck but once the keg gets empty what good is the dog. So I just started carring the keg then I got arrested for open container so I chunked the keg and just got minatures and after I empty them I just throw them away, you guessed it I got busted for littering. Now I just sit at home and drink, that way it don't have to carry nothing & usually I don't care to anyway.

I used to carry that and more when I lived in Alaska,,, but have gotten complacent over the years. Now I only carry a tow chain, jack, full set of tools and fuses, extra serp belt and CPS, oil, coolant, brake fluid, tie-down straps, shovel, flashlight, hand held CB Radio, disposable camera (for those pesky accidents!), extra batteries, a jacket or two, gloves, blanket, enough food for two people for a couple days and several bottles of water.

Hhhmm,, still a lot of stuff!!! Hope I never need it!!

Oh yeah, I used to always carry a Hi Lift jack (mounted to the cross brace for the slide in camper) but I haven't figured out a semi-secure way to store it in the SD.
Also, keep a come a long in the truck.

I don't run around in the great unknown much in VA so for me its some diesel clean, a tow strap and if the weather going to be bad I'll stop at my building supply and "borrow" about a dozen 8" cinder blocks (the owner is a friend and I always return them in a few days).
If it's going to get really bad I'll stop by the liquor store to keep me happy and gas station (generator) so I can stay home for a few days....

i carry a tow strap chains shovels and ax a change of warm clothes and extra socks (wet snowy socks or clothing in sub 0 conditions can make a bad situation worse very quickly) a space blanket bottled water antifreeze anti gel oil and other automotive fluids and a full set of tools, tire plugs jack, and 12volt air compressor and a candle heater. i also always carry my AAA card and cell phone.

in the state of northdakota it is illegal to travel in winter without a "winter survival kit"

Well this has been an interesting thread for those of you in desolate areas. I carry my cell, extra clothing, shovel, flash light, 4" snap strap, jumper cables and if the visibility is down to Zero, stay home and wait it out. Where I live in Ohio it so flat you can see your dog run away for two days
