So, I have been toying with the idea of rebuilding my engine or putting in something bigger, like a 460. It won't be happening for a while, but I would like to have a plan. This brings me to my question...I am searching for a 460 or a 428 or 429, (FE isn't too important). Anyway, I would like a solid block that could be rebuilt and POSSIBLY bored, I am still learning though. So, where should I look and what should I pay for a solid block?
i have a 460 that was rebuilt and its in a 79 bronco. the block is a 71 and the heads are 73. it has a RV cam in it new pistons .030 over balanced edlebrock intake, rear sump oil pan, and if your putting it in a 4x4 i'll through in the L&L motor mounts. the motor was never started yet. i bought the truck to play out in the desert but i had to rebuild the motor in my everyday truck. and now i need the money. the motor cost $2500 to rebuild i'll take $1800 if your interested in it. im in NW Phx.
