I'd definitively be in for a meet up! I would have to schedule something for a long drive. I live near Naples & most places you guys are talking about makes it an over nite trek for me & the family. Keep me posted.
I would be up for a trip to Clermont, nice area, I lived just around the corner from the state park when I worked at SeaWorld. Also camped at the park as well.
i would be up for a meet and great i live lakeland we have two mudd bogg pits in own but i would drive somewhere also but my truck isnt finished im looking at mid spring probaly
Hello. May I suggest during the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona on thanks giving weekend. There will already be a LOT of ford trucks there and it provides enough time to advertise in the main forums. Having a group of ford trucks in one group would definately make a statement.
IMO I beleive this may be a first for Florida FTE Members, just try to keep it simple and afforable and in a convenient spot for as many people as you can, so you may draw as many people as you can. And then try something bigger and better in the spring.
As for frankcowan suggestion of Daytona's Turkay's Rod Run. I think it may be a little to late to plan for something like that. There club parking is all full, and it would be darn near impossible for people to find anywhere to stay as motels are allready full for that weekend.
Awsome it is great to possibly get together, This sunday I am going to Billitproof in Lakeland its the first fun drags they are throwing. So I wont be going this sunday but Turkey Rod Run gathering would be awsome with a small or maybe a large area staked out for the Florida chapter along with other FTE members coming from out of state. It would get us a great start of a good reputation. It is on a weekend and it has more than just trucks to look at in fact it has to much to look at but it would give anyone who loves vehicles something to do. Plus they also have a spring show in Daytona. Thanks for bringing this up
Trevor
We're going to be at the Turkey Rod Run, go every year to that & the Daytona March show - need more parts for the Bronco's. We always stay at the Daytona Beach KOA.
As for the get together TH is planning, I agree with Casey, keep it simple to start.
The BBQ at a state park is a great idea as it can be accommodating for most everyone. Right now no one knows who's got family's, who's stag'in it, etc. Once you get the first GTG in, hopefully others will follow.
THMan, if everyone just wants a simple meet and greet. How bout Daytona Hooters?
What does everyone think about meeting up at the Hooters in Daytona right off of I95? Wings, Beer, nice parking lot? Would be an easy place to get you guys's feet wet in the "meets"....Once you guys get a feel of how fun these things are you will want THMan to set up LOTS more! LOL
Also guys remember, your truck dont have to be "done" or even "moded" to join in on meets. Its all about the friendship and fun.....
If you hold a meet at Old Town it needs to be a 2 day meet. That was an idea I gave THMan early on and why the 2 day meet idea came up. I put on a few Nissan Titan meets a year and that is one place that we hold them for our weekend meets. Hooters works out very well for day meets.
THMan has a good thing going and trust me, I know how aggrivating it is to get a meet going and set up LOL so Im just trying to lend the man a hand LOL
