Me and my son are putting together a 85 F150/4WD for his first truck. It is an "in-need of updating" original Custom interior and as of today have managed to get all the interior plastics either "new old stock" or "in really good shape" used. The onlything left I would like to do is upgrade to a headliner. Did Ford make an XL/XLT interior for these year/model trucks? If so, any ideas as to where to aquire such items (i.e. headliner board, trim). Salvage yard searching is turning out to be a waste of time.

 

You mentioned that you have some of the interior trim already. Does yours support the headliner (ie: did your parts come from a donor truck w/a headliner?) Your best bet would be to find a truck that has a headliner already as a donor. Don't worry if the fabric is falling from the board that it's attached to. What your're looking for is the board itself. Carefuly remove it from your donor and then take it to a upulstory shop. I took them my board, got some actual automotive headliner material, and then it cost me a mere $15.00 to have the old removed and the new material glued back on.

Unfortunately, a salvage yard/junkyard/pull-a-part is gonna be your best bet to get one though.

I would try some of the sponsers on here and see what they have. LMC and Bronco Graveyard seem to have some good stuff.
