i know im digging up an older thread here but 90fords how did you get it that low without messing up the alignment? Or do you just "live with it"? Its seems you 87-96 guys are getting your trucks lower than the 80-86 guys. whats the difference, isn't the suspension essencially the same?

The suspensions are actually identical....The alignment issue is only REALLY noticeable with the REALLY low truck (Bagged, etc) and when the steering components are pretty worn....

And they make Camber Alignment plates for the trucks with REALLY bad issues....but its best to start with new steering components and a good aligned truck....

Thats what i figured. Iv'e been looking at 90fords truck and i figure if i can get that low i'd be happy. I also saw a white f150 that i liked the look of. I was looking into a mustang II swap or the crown vic deal but i dont think i really want it that low i want the front wheels to just tuck into the fender wells, but measuring my truck it looks like thats gonna take 6" of drop

Do a 5/7" drop...

5" of drop in the front...

3" drop beams
2" Lowering Coils

and 7" of drop in the rear...
2" lowering shackles (I have those on my truck and lovem)
Drop Hangers (With the shackles, gives you 4" of drop)
Axle Flip Kit

Some say a notch...Some say no...

I'd go with non first....then if needed, add a Bolt in Notch...

Also, with a flip, you have to trim the bump stops off the frame....THey're over the axle...

well to get 7 inches in the back you need a axle flip, which most people notch for and then with another 2 inches in the shackle drop thats probably gonna leave you with almost no travel even with a notch
