Loosing oil but not leaking anywhere

93 F150 302 5.0 SuperCab
I am loosing oil somewhere but there are no signs of visible leaks, no smoke. What are some areas that would be causing me to loose about a qt of oil a week. Truck runs fine but where is my oil possibly going?

When I first got the truck, changed oil took a trip that was 212 mi one-way. When I go home I was about 2 qts low barely reading on the dip stick. Yes I let the engine sit for about 2 hours before checking.

Are you sure its full to start with? You would think that if it were burning that much it would smoke, or at least smell like burning oil...How's your PCV valve?

Is the dipstick the correct one?

Oil pan rusty? Bolts loose? Chassis soaked in oil?

I say have a look underneath ive seen several of these trucks and even some of the v8 cars the oil pan will start to bubble and peel and the oil will slowly leak through the thin metal or maybe part of the pan gasket is out of place ...rear pan seal... if its coming out down below you will see the underside of the trans/crossmember/frame coated in oil

good luck with it

If your exhaust smoke isn't discolored, then there's a leak somewhere- it's just a matter of finding it. If you have a large piece of cardboard, place it under the truck after you've been running it for a while then go back and check it after an hour or two. It's not exact but it helps point you in the right direction.

I am glad you said the PCV valve - that was the first thing I was going to replace. There is never any oil on the driveway - I have had the truck about a month. I will take a closure look to the underside but at first glance not much there. Thanks for the replys.
Yes my 94 has the oil pan rust out problem but temporarly fixed it with JB Weld until I get the time to spend 6 hours replacing.
