power steering conversion

i have a 61 unibody and i am trying to convert it to power steering. any sugestions? i have a steering box from a 84 or 85 toyota 4x4 that is suposed to be a perfect fit but it doesn't look like it will work even with a custom bracket. Any ideas or tricks out there to make this work?

maybe you don't have the right box... the info i have read says 79 to "early" 84 box and i would take that to believe toyota changed the steering box sometime in 84 compare the photo in this article to your PS box.

Is that a black truck that was on LAcraigslist for a while? You'll probably have to find a donor uni that is beyond repair and salvage the rear wheel wells to weld into yours.

I was lucky enough to find a Unibody that was cut and turned into a trailer. I'll use the wheel wells and part of the bed floor when I put the narrowed rear end under mine. There are a number of Unibodies around in fields, you just gotta keep an eye out for them. You should post a picture of what you're looking for.

Cant seem to find replacement panels for the rear fender.
Only Flaresides have rear fenders, Stylesides have quarter panels.

Very interesting. Ive learned a lot. Im still new to the Uni world, but making progress. Before I do anymore, Im a reader. Read Read Read. There is so much to learn. Right now I'm looking for a guy to help me install a crown vic front clip. I really want P/S. Disc breaks. And a lower ride height.

I just picked up a 62 all original yet. I am going to just do the Sids dropped axel. Still costing me close to 600 with shipping!

62 Uni

Just picked up a 1962 SWB Uni. Going to start on a wiring harness first since the previous owner wrapped the fuses in tinfoil to keep them from blowing. I looked up the wiring diagram but cant find the wire sizes. Any ideas where I might be able to look? Thanks in advance.
