my 84 bronco (pics)

finally got a little time in the busy harvest season to post some pics that i took over the past couple of months of my bronco

i worked an entire summer for my dad when i was 16 and he bought me this bronco and gave me a rebuilt 302 for it. i eventually traded it off, but when i got the chance to get it back i jumped on it, even though it is in nowhere near the shape it once was.

just getting her home:

front clip off:

notice the piece of strap that is sticking up? it was being used to support the battery tray!

i got tired of it looking so naked so i dropped the clip off the 84 f150 that i got for it on so i could have a change in the look, temporarily:

the 300-6 that im working on, sans intake and accessories:

thats all for now, as soon as i have some more free time (around the end of the month) i will post some newer, updated pics.

Looks like you've got your work cut out for you, that's for sure. The top and most of the body look to be in pretty good shape though. Should be fun to fix up again. Glad you got her back, but I bet you won't be so fast to part with her again.

yeah its (the blue/white one) is getting the megasquirt and the dual range.

it will also get the suspention lifted about 3-4" and some narrower 33's. I'm gonna keep the beams off the 86 to cut and turn, so it will be similar to: Zimmermans 1993 Ford Explorer 4x4 Cut Turned Dana 35 TTB Arms

now that i have brought up my plans for the suspention i should discuss the bronco's purpose. it's not a dedicated trail rig or rock crawler (hence not doing a SAS) nor is it destined for daily duty (although capable) rather i want it to be a self contained adventure vehicle that has camping capabilities, so i can get into it and go anywhere looking for an adventure.

starting to paint the frame with chassis saver (which i highly recommend)

oops.

Megasquirt II came in a couple days ago!

megasquirt II kit, stimulator, and a progaming cable

case and the main board

parts spread out a bit more.

I ordered from diyautotune.com and can say that i am impressed, they got my payment on friday morning and the box was in my hands monday. everything was well packaged and clearly marked. im gonna get a new soldering iron tomorrow before i start though.

today i got the right engine stands and got them painted with chassis saver, but the parts store gave me the wrong throw out, so i wasn't able to get the engine in since i didn't want to drive the 50 miles (round trip) to the parts store if im gonna be in there tomorrow. so instead i plugged the air injection ports:
which i wrote about in the inline 6 forum.

actually the firewall doesn't look too bad. the blue you see is covered up by the cowl (which isn't there) its the stuff on the firewall that needs to be cleaned and painted

Broncos are the best. I have a small project too. Is the chassis saver paint good for axle housings too? Is there a link for the company that supplies the paint?
