you had problems with a navistar engine ,not a ford .6.7 is a ford in house engine and they have built plenty of them in foreign countries.they may have teething problems also but the engineering on this motor is immense as well as the testing.my particular 6.0 is agreat engine only problem i've had in 156,00 miles was an icp failure. sorry you had so many headaches with yours

I mean thats one of the few good things Dodge has got going for them is the Cummins reputation.
Man and if they go with the Mercedez good luck to them. We have had to new company truck's that came with the Benz diesel and one blew during deliver and the other blew two weeks into service. When they run they run awesome, but we have had a ton of problems with them.

Ran one of these trucks yrs ago did well but lacking power, in texas. I ran a 7.3 2003 diesel and made good money. Once I went 6.0 2003/2004/2005 its been down hill ever since. My dodge has 90,000 on it and never been in shop for a engine/tranny related problem. This is good, I make money. My ford diesels didn't. On the 6.9 never ran in cold weather meaning 10 degree's down to -30 degrees, sometimes colder. Those trucks will not do well without fuel heaters and #1 diesel. It was about 6 degree's the past few nights and snowing.

This is not including lost jobs and other related financial deductions. One heck of a business expense. Like the trucks not the diesel's. I know I'm gonna catch some flak but you weren't paying the bills. These trucks were maintained properly and serviced as your suppose to.
My 01 7.3 has 305,xxx miles, my 05 6.0 has 127,xxx miles and has never had any work done to it, my 06 6.3 has 105,000 and the EGR, turbo something to do with the HPOP oil lines all taken care of by Ford. They have all been great trucks.

05 6.0L with 245,000 on it and still running strong. sure the older engines didnt do as well in cold but none of the diesles did at the time. Last winter when we hit 45 below I said im not going to work if my truck isnt starting. cant tell you how mad I was after about 7 or 8 cranks when she started with #2 fuel and howes in it.

I think Dodge eventually disapear nobody buys their junk trucks. Built out of cheap tin.

I will only buy Fords they stand up to the abuse. Diesel trucks are not worth buying anymore the cost of fuel and the cost of a diesel truck. A 6.4 powered truck costs 10 grand more than a V-10 powered truck.

My next truck will be gas the new diesel trucks don't get the fuel mileage they cost a arm and a leg to fix.

You buy a new Dodge good luck on getting it fixed. Supposidy the factory that builds the computer components to run the new 6.7 has shut down. A few trucks sitting at the Dodge dealer out of commission they need a new computer they won't be available for 6 months.

Cummins doesn't want anything to do with the Dodge trucks because Dodge uses their own programing for the engines. Cummins dealers will tell you sorry can't do anything for you.

It looks like gas engines are winning. I read that diesel P/U truck sales dropped down to 40%.

The old CUMMINS engine company just ain't what it used to be. Someone above mentioned that CUMMINS makes MARNINE engines. Not true. Cummins sold off the marine (boat engine) division several years ago. Brunswick corporation has a license to use the CUMMINS name, but owned by the pool table/bowling pin company, oh, they also own SEA RAY, MAXUM and about ten more boat manufacturers.
