I have been working on this truck for almost 2 years now. I finally got all the bugs worked out and have been driving it on the weekends for about 6 months. But now it is time to get back on it and button it up.
My plans are to finish the interior (all custom) suicide the doors w/ power windows, shave the cowl vents and wiper holes, shave the roof seams, slick the firewall, repaint the engine block, put in a high performance cam and headers spray the entire truck a medium blue pearl and paint the frame and under side of the body with POR 15. this will be the 2nd time I have taken it all the way down to bare frame anyway that is my plan and I hope to have it done within 8 months. Wish me luck.
misnomer... I don't know... Its the same thing either way. The body has been dropped over the frame or you could say it has been channeled over the frame... why does everyone dis on minitruckers anyway can't we all just get along lol
fuelinjected no the frame is stock in the front...mostly... if you haven't come to the conclusion by now lol the body is CHANNELED. The hood is a factory hood with the center of a 2nd welded on top. the grille is hand made as well out of aluminum angle.
isnt "body drop" the mini truck misnomer for old skool "channeling"
the hood and phantom grill look cool
there's several methods used to bodydrop. the first is the "traditional" bodydrop where the entire floor, outside of the bodymounts, is cut out. the entire floor is then welded back together via angled or 90 degree sections of sheetmetal. on a traditional you will know as soon as you open the door and see the "step."
the second way of bodydropping is channeling. this is the process of only cutting out the floor directly above the frame. this also requires the relocation of bodymounts to lower areas of the frame.
last is the "stockfloor" bodydrop where a new, lower profile frame is built.
i love the hood dude. i am hereby stealing that idea to use when i rebuild my 78... and ill make it a functional cold air intake.

hey I am cool with that but I don't consider it stealing.. i gave it to you I could of kept it to myself lol I will tell you it is not as easy as it seems I got alot of time just in that hood. and I still am not done with it
man, im gonna have a lot of time invested in my whole truck. its going to be my project as go through auto tech and autobody tech next year. itll be a full frame-off resto. i plan on taking a regular, daytime auto course that requires the rebuild of an engine and trans (my engine and trans), and taking autobody courses at night so i can finish the whole truck at once.

check out what I started today. With the extreme body drop seating height has been an issue I have been fighting for a while now. I am tired of craning my neck to see the traffic lights. I dropped my floor pans down and I am going to build a set of bucket seats that will be as low to the floor as I can get em.
I still got some work left to do but you get the idea
