Notice he said that he can't fit in HIS truck as it is... His truck is body-dropped, so the floor has been raised to get the cab lower to the ground.

it will probably be the first thing i do in autobody next fall. when i do it, ill be sure to post pics. itll probably just be bare metal or in primer though, ill wait to paint it with the rest of the truck. ya know how the hoods that you buy are kinda squared up on the cowl? im thinking more along those lines, but a little smother flow, like, similar to the early 70s corvettes. only a lot cooler, cause itll be a ford, and a truck. lol.

Hey FLATFORD1976 your truck is gonna look killer when it's painted! It would look good tubbed out with some fat-ass Mickey Thompsons stuffed in the rear fenderwells with that channel-job! And the hood is a piece of art - you didn't do that in one day!

Thanks crazyeddie. you know its nice getting recognition for things that you have actually DONE....Unlike some people (like our president) who get awarded recognition for things they are thinking about doing.....BUT I DIGRESS lol. You know it is tubbed in an unconvenentional way but I am only running 10" tires in the rear.....clearance is an issue when you are laying rockers but I like the way you think

Holy-hell that bed is awesome! I take it you have access to a big sheetmetal roller! You'd probably have trouble fitting some 30" wide tires under there from the looks of the pic... but 10" is no slouch either! I see a lot of guys running the wide 30" rims with "thinner" tires instead of the fat Mickey Thompson gumbos.

I hear ya as far as recognition goes. I have zero respect for the guy that has a car built him then parades around like King ****.

A guy I butted heads with in high school was given a brand new '07 Mustang GT with aftermarket rims and exhaust from mommy and daddy. Of course, he got all the attention, picked up all the chicks, fit in with the auto-shop crowd, etc. HELLO PEOPLE - HE'S NEVER TURNED A WRENCH IN HIS LIFE! HE WOULDN'T THINK TO CHECK THE OIL EVEN IF THE LOW-OIL DUMMY LIGHT CAME ON! HE BURNED UP THE CLUTCH IN A BRAND NEW MUSTANG IN SIX WEEKS!

Bottom line: bragging rights to the DIY's - extra bragging rights to the DIY's like you that can do crazy **** with sheetmetal - the rest can just shut the hell up

you can only brag about a car like that if you paid for it with your own sweat and blood, saving every penny. and if you built your ride, you can brag over the guy who saved for it. and the fact that the dolt burned up the clutch in six weeks!! just... wow... the only way that that is acceptable is if you are doin wheel stands at the track or pullin sleds at the fairgrounds. ive only burned my clutch my once, and that was in my 76, AND it wasnt my fault. my step sisters used to drag race it, so the clutch is about shot anyways.

I think it's funny how when I was a kid (back when my truck was just rolling off the line in Ohio) everyone used to jack the rear end of their cars up....the higher the better. I like the lead sled look personally and I can sure appreciate the work that goes into it. I LOVE that custom dash. I wish new cars looked like that. Simple is better. What I appreciate most is the avatar in front of that F-18....how did you get your personal vehicle onto a flight line?

speaking of paint, I like your flat black approach, with the white scuff lines and the red stripe in the dent. It's a nice rat rod scheme, gives it a lot of character. I hope the new paint looks just as original. Be careful though. I had a car with a body kit and had it painted hammered black, everyone loved it. I got a real paint job, and everyone told me I should have kept it the way it was.
