Talking Raptor supercrew!!!!

This is potentially great news for anybody seeking a Raptor that didn't want to be limited to the Supercab!!

http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/09...-crew-cab.html

Looks like it's going to be a sweet truck too!

Looks like a future pavement princess to me.

Anyone really serious about off roading and is planning to buy a Raptor isn't going to be interested in increasing the vehicle weight, or the wheel base for passenger room, IMO.

It'll still be a cool truck though.

I agree Brian. I just wonder how many of the Raptors sold will actually see serious off road duty. I know that Ford had many requests to make the Raptor in a Supercrew version so I guess this will be it. It'll be interesting to say the least.

This is true....like yourself, I see the new Raptor in general being treated like the current H2/H3's which have been dumbed down to Suburbia tow vehicles for "Todd" and "Kitty's" Jets skis, or Weekend Warrior status symbols for the wealthy, who are looking to promote some sort of "hard edge" to their neighbours to prove they've got a wild side. In any case, nothing remotely close to the potentially serious off road drivers they were intended to be.

Great minds think alike, huh? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one and would be much more prone to go off-road with it than my current truck, but you're spot-on with that.

I was just on Ford's website and I built a Raptor right to the hilt and surprisingly enough, it came in at under $50k. Of course there will be a regional market increase as we've already discussed plus T&T.

I would love to have seen Ford offer a winch, air compressor or even a high lift jack for the serious offroaders.

If I were in the market for a off road truck I'd want a Reg Cab with full choice of bed sizes.

I was out running some errands and stopped in and looked at the Raptor. OMG! Pics do this truck NO justice what so ever! She is built!

To my amaze, the dealer had no market value incrrease but also made it perfectly clear that there would be no negotiating at this time. This particular truck is selling for $43,XXX.

yes...Ford is listening to the demand

current Raptor sales are decent...but if this truck actually makes it to market...wow. Every guy with a family who also wants a badass truck is going to take a serious look at the Raptor Screw.

Say what you will about it being a pavement princess. But how many trucks get a 6" lift and 35" FROM THE FACTORY with the accompanying 5yr/60k Warranty?

I'm betting pricing will be about that of a Screw Platinum. I'd pretty much given up the thought of another F-150 since I want a Diesel for my next truck...but damn. Kinda hard to pass on a Raptor Screw. especially with a 6.2 in there

well with news like that i'll be planning on get one if they do make one

and like all my trucks, i won't be afarid to take in and get in muddy in the woods or if i ever get a change to go blasting through the sand i would

like said above factory 35' and epa est 18 mpg with a 5.4 and a fully warrenty

i don't think they should call it a raptor for say ...could just become the true FX4

Scab = Raptor...since it's smaller
Screw = T-Rex...since it's bigger

that would be kinda neat. just a simple name change, and a little dinosour twist

what an idea tylus ..

but i think the fx4 line needs to be kicked up a bit. and with the right pricing of the raptor now, a CC isn't going to be much more

i don't care what they call it... if its a crew cab with 35, 4.10 gears and thats stock who doesn't want one

if you ask most truck buyers thats what they want bigger tires and a lift, but never do it due to warrenty money and their old lady, but for a few dollars more a month on your payment why not just get it all at once

I am curious to what the true hp/tq numbers are going to be on the 6.2, saying 400/400 and getting it are not the same. It will be needed for the screw version I am guessing with the extra weight, reviews even on scab say it needs the extra power to put it where Ford markets. Possible an option for the Coyote engine or are the numbers going to be lower than the 5.4L

I know I would not put either version thru what they were designed for in any case. They are sweet looking.
