2005 electrical issue

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Occasionally, when I crank my truck, I have two obvious electrical items show up. The first time I noticed it was when my radio, 6 disc version, didn’t come on; it was totally blank no power. I turn the truck off, restarted it and everything was fine, except the cds had to go through the reload. Later I noticed that the computer information center would change; I drive with the mpg’s showing and that would be gone and the view was set to the basic view. I don’t have any performance issues and the truck starts right up every time, so I’m thinking there must be an issue in the ignition switch. Any ideas?

This is only an idia. But I've been reading latley that a lot of strange things happen due to loose battery connections. These could be at the battery itself or the other end of the main battery cables. I think there is a seperate ground cable from engine to chassis. What you described sounds like the radio lost memory that one time and then your info. center lost memory and then went back to default. Also I remember reading on here that water or moisture had been known to get through the firewall and travel into the fuse panel and corroding connections in there. Like I said, just a couple of ideas. Let us know what you found if anything.

I finally got tired of the problem, so I took step 1, had the battery checked, after all it was the original. And yes it was weak, so I replaced it. So far so good.

I was also going to say the battery. Ive read and experienced alot of funny things happen when the battery is on the way out, but not showing the normal signs of batteries going south, im sure your good now.
