FICM (P0611) and EGR valve...again?
Have an '06 F-350 since new. All stock except 4" cat back exhaust. Replaced the EGR valve 2 months/4k miles ago @ 104k. And turbo a few months before.
Last week CEL came on and pulled P1335 and P0404, both EGR related. 2 days later CEL disappeared.
Today CEL came back on and pulled P1335, P0404, AND P0611.
I cleared the codes and will see if/when they come back.
Truck has seemed a little sluggish right off idle when you mash the throttle. Starts fine with no smoke.
P0611 is a concern after searching here where most are the sign of a faulty FICM on it's way south.
My EGR valve thoughts are either the EGR valve is failing early, or a piece of carbon was left in the manifold and sticking the new valve? even though I vacummed the intake before installing the new valve.
Also I have a remote start and it's set at 20 second delay, but for some reason it started the truck after 2-3 seconds yesterday morning, long before the glo plugs were ready. Could this set the P0611 code?
We're pulling the RV this weekend about 200 miles so I would like some piece of mind before we leave.
Thanks for any insight...

I am not shure what your problem is but let me tell you what I do about similar symptoms:
My truck is an 04 with 163K on it. I found that when the EGR valve clogged frequently that the EGR cooler was starting to go. The antifreeze coming from the failing egr cooler boils away leaving a carbon-black white deposit on the valve which eventually clogs it open and kills the turbo boost and you stop on the road with an idleing engine with no power and lots of smoke.
I am on my second EGR cooler and plan on replacing it soon as I find the time. This is a work truck for me and I need it to run or I get no PAY. Meanwhile I carry a rachet and socket and pry bar to remove the valve and clean it out should it plug up and stop me on the road. It is not a big job and goes very fast and being able to do this while traveling gives you some insurance that the trip will not get ruined.
YEA, I know it sounds kinda hokey but it takes about 5 minutes and you get up and going again. YEA, I should replace the wholething with something better Or get rid of it all together and I guess I will when I get the chance, hopefully, this month. Beware the cooler gets worse as time goes by and that the knowledge pool says replace the oil cooler to.
So that is whats happing to my rig. I hope this helps you and saves you trip. The valve is very easy to get out and clean up.
Warmest regards, good luck!

Well the CEL came back on 10 miles after leaving the house this morning.
I made a few stops and noticed the CEL was gone this afternoon.
When I got home tonight I found P1335 so I pulled the EGR and there was some crusty BLACK carbon. Also a layer of soft black carbon in the minifold that was'nt there when I replaced the EGR valve 2 months ago.
I cleaned the EGR valve and reinstalled. And it never seems easy to pull out. I had to use wire and a prybar both times.
ALSO the coolant res. was just about empty and it took a little more then 1/2 gallon. The truck has never smoked and the EGR valve was replaced 2 months ago, but I'm guessing the EGR cooler is just starting to leak? Replace or eliminate?
