the center arm rest on my '05 Sport Trac collapsed. There is no support in the front for this thing, just the rear. Has anyone resplaced one themselves? I can't find how it attaches to the rear mount. Anyone with advice? the Dealer wants $175 to replace including labor, which seems real high to me. can i order a replacement somewhere on line??

From your description I'm thinking you have the short console, the one with the bag. There is a repair plate available on ebay, haven't tried it myself.

If it's the hinge that broke it can be repaired with this. It's not exactly like the Trac piece but it fits fine.

I actually have an older Explorer arm rest on mine right now until I decide what repair route to take.

This shows the Explorer/Bronco II arm rest installed on my Trac's console. It's a bit shorter and slightly a different color but it works for now. The mounting bolts are accessed by removing the oblong cover visible in the photo. Attaching bolts require a 8MM or 5/16" socket on an extension to remove them:
