Parked for the year.

My 64 went into storage today. She may get one more spin around the section before winter sets in but she is done for the most part. The burble of the Y will be burning in me in about a week.

Me and the kid took a long drive today. I had just replaced the distributor as the bushings were bad and found out that my vaccum advance was toast. Finaly got some better milage She went from 13 to 15 with that one swap. amazing what a good spark can do.

I had wanted to keep her out for two more weeks but on thursday night my wifes mustang was looted for the stereo and beat up. They ransaked my 64 and found nothing. My 85 F150 was also stolen. The police got me my truck back by friday eve they found it on the otherside of town idlling with the choke full out. They had stuck their caddy in a ditch by my house used all my log chain to try to pull it out and failed. The yahoos then stole the stereo and my 85 truck. The cops have an 01 caddy in impound and still have not charged anyone. I figured it was best to get my baby outa here.

You guys in warmer climates are living the good life. Long live the Y.

Was all of this thieving activity from the same people? It would seem like they could be caught in N.D. Too bad you cant repo the Caddy for damages and loss.

We've had a taste of winter early. The woodstove has been going 24 hours a day all weekend. So this coming weekend is the last event for the 46. A friend with his Packard and I are going over to the coast at Crescent City, CA to a get together there. It is a beautiful 100 miles away and so far all the weather forecasts have it being clear, no rain. There is a good stretch of the 2 lane that passes thru a Redwood forest, and a 20 mile length which winds around following the spectacular Smith river. After that the cover and blankets go on, and heating lamp(s) set up till next spring. And I get to endure a set of surgeries followed by rehab. It could be a rough winter.

Speaking of distributor bushings, does anyone know if and where replacements are available?

Same people did it all.

You have a great drive, and the best of luck on your surgeries.

Yes the same one. Known as Redwood Highway and also Highway 99, angling down to the NW corner of CA.

The gal who owns it hadent reported it stolen untill about ten miniutes after the cops called. Then it was stolen. The cops in my town are kinda lazy. Seems all they get for arrests is minors drinking and meth busts. If it aint a minor or a tweaker they generaly do nothing.
My wifes friend, Her father lives next to the dinks that we think did it. She is going to talk to him tonight. We will see.

The Caddie is impounded till charges are filed though.

Burrr... it getting cold here too! Jackets and winter boots - shivering fans at football games. A temp drop of 30 degrees in one week. It must be winter...

Did I mention I'm in So Cal? Being a new guys here it seems pretty strange to me that people think its cold when the high for the day is 76 degrees - heck there's even a major rod show this weekend. Guess I can't complain...
