Much depends upon how much you are willing to limit up travel. If you limit the bump, you can clear with about 10 to 12 inches of lift. If you are willing to cut the crossmember, and clearance the pan, you can get away with less lift.
I am assuming that you are using 2.5 ton Rocks with a "top loader" design?
These have a very large input and the top loader design really gets in the way when using them. Great for driveline angles though.
Are you planning on running leafs or a nice link system?
Leafs are difficult to use since they have to take on a banana shape, and do not function too well.
I'm looking at a top load design on the Rockwells. Initially i want to go with leaf springs and see how that works out and maybe go to links down the road. I live about 5 miles from a large off road/hunting area so I want to be able to drive there but thats the only road use it will see. It'll be like a swamp buggy but with a body and able to drive to the swamp. On a side note 75f350 NICE buildup on the Bronco.
i had to lift mine about 24'' total to clear the rockwell 5 ton under the engine with enough clearance for a good amount of uptravel. not that this is the same sort of thing, but if you are using 54's, you just need to worry about tire clearance.
my leaves only have 6" of lift, so i still have a good ride. my lift has lots of frame modification so that i could run relatively flat springs, and no blocks.

I picked up a set of four 53 inch Michelins for $400 total. I think a 54 inch bogger runs for over $800 a piece... The Michelins have a J load range and 16 ply (the military runs these on 5 ton 8x8's) meaning they will virtually never wear out. They'll probably dry rot before your F350 wears the tread out. If you run a 54 bogger on the road over about 55 mph for a long enough time, they'll most likely start throwing rubber chunks from over heating. Argument though is which performs better.. Well I don't it gets much better than a bogger and boggers look better than the skinny Michelins but the price of Michelins is no contest.
