Spokane area oil change

Okay, I just moved into a new house so I do not really have the means to change my oil, more specifically the 15 quarts of oil. LOL

Anyways, does anyone around here do a good job changing the oil and have 5/40 Shell Rotella synthetic in stock? Or willing to change the oil if I bring the oil myself? I can get it from Walmart. I have heard bad things about Jiffy Lube in the area, but I would thinnk they would stock Rotella synthetic.

Anyways, please provide me some info, I need an oil change!

Change it at a friend's house. The only other person I'd let change my oil is my dad.

I agree!! Change it yourself - basically it is so easy, you can do it anywhere. You can even go to a WalMart parking lot and change it. Just buy a large enough drain pan and find a place that takes the used oil (many places do).

Oh yeah, and the only other person (besides myself) that I would trust w/ an oil change is my son!

Yeah, I just moved to Spokane recently and I am a CPA, so.... my friends that are in town are accountants, and accountants don't change their own oil. LOL I have never once had someone change my own oil, even when I was 16. But this diesel is a whole nother matter.

Where do you even get a 15 qt oil pan? and what is different in how you change compared to a gas engine?

You can use a 5 gallon bucket if you don't have a pan big enough. I bought a 5 gallon coolant pan and use that.

Awhile ago someone posted to buy a 4 gallon pail of Kitty Litter - the pail is just the right size. The Fumoto valve makes it a snap!

I guess a 5 gallon bucket might not work on a stock height truck

Yeah, I don't think it will work, but I did an online search, and one of the local parts stores has a 15 qt oil pan. So, I might just go buy that. I was more being lazy. LOL I did the read online on how to do it, and it doesn't sound that much different. Just gotta get the filter and oring from the dealer.

If the pan is 15 qt. even you may be in a little bit of trouble without a Fumoto valve.

Nothing easier than ordering filters on line (dieselfiltersonline.com). Great prices too. You can also get the oil filters from an International dealership, or even WalMart.

The only issue I have w/ a 15 quart oil pan is that the oil stream will blow in the wind and sometimes make a mess when draining. I found a perfect height bucket that I LOVE - it works much better when the wind is up.

Yeah, except for today, it is not windy here in Spokane. Is it worth the extra $5 for the Motorcraft over the Racor? If I recall, the MC is just a Racor that is branded?
