Ya 59flatbedford

I like the looks of the red truck, but for my personal taste I like the bodies to be more retro looking. This is nice but it looks a little "slicker" than I personally like. Just a matter of taste--not meant as a criticism.

I'm guessing there's no roof?
I suppose I've seen that "treatment" before and I can't see any
door lines from the photo. So I'm guessing one just climbs in from
the top. I don't think that kind of "entry" is for an old guy like me!
I might get hurt!

And for sure these are very limited use. You don't need winshield wipers in a truck with no roof. I don't think one would make
a habit out of daily driving to work in it, but that's no different than
a lot of really nice restorations that spend most of there time in the
garage and just come out for special occassions.

I wouldn't mind building something like that and poping in a Ford turbo
2.3 liter or one of the newer small displacement high hp motors
that Ford is building these days. That thing can't weigh much. It would be a "rocket" truck and still be pretty "green" and with great mileage too.

You wouldn't be driving that on the street, would you? Note that that gasser doesn't have a ridiculously short roofline, welded-up doors, and has a complete body (not a tractor nose).

Unfortunately most people do not know the difference between gasser, street freak, and ratrod.

I know the difference!

I was told that would be wrong to do to my truck, His exact words were " Build it right don't rat rod it out". Needless to say he didn't know what a gasser was.

Hi all

I like this one. I like what i call its "retro look" and I don't mind the patina in this case. And as was mentioned earlier by Havi-I too cringe when I see someone dismember a useable truck--and it looks to me that this was
built from many sources including the Kelsey Hayes Ford wheels, brakes,Model A bed,Ford banjo w/quick change rear end/and probably other Ford stuff I can't see. But in any case borrows from many different cars/trucks and didn't result in any existing truck being removed from the "pool".

For sure I like that 51 dashboard in the black primered truck with the
blue wire wheels. That is a super clean, quality looking build by someone
that knows how to do it.

Any guess as to the wheels on that little red truck. I would suppose they're from some sort of "big rig"? Just curious.

I love that you need smaller tires to clear the headers

yea well if i build one it wouldn't be exactly like the red one its just the first pic of one of the general style i like, radically chopped and all but yea mine the doors would open and have windows and all and be drivable much like the black one, and not as shiny as the red one either. and i love that ford with the headers thats just awesome. This is a little better example
