Question Best home truck washing system???

Going out of town this weekend so it was time to was the Supercab. In the past with my 99' Ranger you rinse, wash, rinse, and dry in no time flat. I knew the big one would be a bit longer, but I underestimated the work and time. Since my old truck was gold, I could get away with very few washes per year, but with the Toreador Red that ain't gonna work. Question is which is the best/quickest home truck washing system available??? Thanks.

I tried the new Mr Clean system and it really works. No need to dry to get rid of the water spots.

The best thing you can do is leave your home and go to a professional car wash. Plenty of studies out there show that home washing/hand washing cvan be very painful to your finish.

Not a viable option time wise nor do I want to spend money for a pro detail. I want a quick method that gives decent results. The ride comfort level I'll spend money on but I should be able to keep it good looking without too much loss of time or money. But thanks.

the Mr Clean system works, however, if the truck is really dirty (offroad) you will have clean it the old fasion way then use the Mr Clean. If the truck just has pollen or a little dirt then the Mr Clean works great.

Maybe a combination of the Mr. Clean and the Simoniz would give the best and quickest results. Also there are Microfiber cloths out there for washing and drying. I'll keep researching, but if anyone has tried some of the Auto products maybe they can give some feedback.

the california water blade works ok. i just make sure the car is perfectly clean or else i might drag something across the paint then i soak the blade in hot water to soften the rubber. it drys fast and then you can just go over some of the trials it leaves. now that i think about it though. i jsut spent 20 bucks on a squeegee. thatsucks

Really soft brush on a stick, plastic step stool. It helps to be 6'4" such as myself. I think it's cool having a vehicle as tall as me.

One thing i found while washing at home is...don't spray the truck with a nozzle on the final rinse. If you do, it create the water drops that you have to dry off. If you turn the hose on with no nozzle on the end and let the water flow or slide across the paint, most of the water sheets off and you eliminate much of the drying by hand.

Oh, and I found that I have to drag out my 6' step ladder to wash the top, windshield and the bed cover. I can't reach it without it.

lariatf150,

I have to break out the 6 footer too. I'm glad I got those running boards! Keeps me from getting too close to the doors with the ladder!

I use the Mr. Clean system and a california water blade on a pole. I got a 18" model but need to get a smaller one, since I can't get between the rear window and the rack on my tonneau cover with the large one.
