Technically, this truck is stock. I mean the springs are bone stock and it has rather flat springs. These stock SD springs net approx 7 inches of lift I guess, and it requires more. At full stuff the tires get into the fender and at full extension the front driveshaft pops out, Doh! Thats a good problem to have I guess.
It will take some time to maximize lift and articulation, but that is part of the fun.
oh sure now i learn this...you know how many f350 4x4s are sitting complete at my junkyard, i should have went with d6 leaf up front and sterling out back but i figured there would be more work to get all the spring hangers built/ aligned ...well ****

Hey could we get some more pics of your bronco? Awsome build BTW. I wouldn't have used SKYs brackets, but that's because I have a big personal problem with the owner of that shop. I ran mine on coils and didn't have a problem with the trac bar strength, just had to box the section of frame where the bracket attached, but yours looked much easier to fabricate. You are going to be very happy with your coopers, they are an AMAZING tire, and you'll be supprised how well they do in the mud. they, IMO, are the closest you can get to a bias ply tire in a radial that goes straight down the road. Curious about your ABS issue though, since I threw the sterling in my 1/2 ton

Since I know, or remember that you had one of these, you can make a comparisson yourself. I should be over at Steve's shop this week and plan on taking this rig. You are welcome to take it for a spin. Then you can decide.
I feel that the ride was not improved, it is difficult to match that 1/2 ton ride, but for some reason, after I increase the shackle angle, the thing rides better than the SD ever did.
Because of the spring design, they do not offer a ton of compression, but they extend like crazy. Probably only 5 or so inches of bump, but much more extension.
i would take you up on that one but i have a really horible job and i work 2:30PM to 10:30PM so unless you are there durring the day.....
so is steve getting his axle then?

Thinking the Government stimulus plan is working is like thinking that taking water form the deep end of a pool and dumping it in the shallow end will raise the water level of the pool.

Ill get some more pics up this week guys. I have it all apart again. Remember the tire clearance issue? Well it was not right, so I took it all apart. Not sure if I will just make another set of hangers and move the fixed mount further forward or not, but I have a few ideas. It flexes the way I had expected, though my shock mounts are a dimensionally off, so I have a little trial and error going on there.
Dampers are another story. I considered using some high end Kings, but may just end up with run of the mill Bilsteins.
I have some other work to do before this gets 99% complete. It was so close to being a two day project, but for now, it will sit on the back burner. ONly for a few days, while I weigh my options.
Nice work as always Ed........But I think you're running out of room over there, so I'll be happy to take one of those rigs off your hands at no charge
You looking for a 4x4 project Steve? I have a 75 4x4 truck that could use a good home, and besides you are gonna need something to go run around in the hills with us.
Can make you a heak of a deal.
Thanks for the compliments Steve. Been wondering about you lately. Hope all is well.
We should get together for a lunch or something..........
