dana 35 front axle brake mods?

Quick backstory: I had a '66 Bronco, it's gone now, but I kept the axles, tranny, tcase, and driveshafts. If the axles are 58" WMS to WMS, then it becomes too narrow for most truck 4x4 swaps. However, I've read about the front axle getting a Chevy brake swap that moves the WMS to WMS outward to 59.5". Now that is something that works. Then I could tub the rear a bit and make the 58" rear fit ok.
So my question is: Has anyone here done the brake swap and verified the 59.5" WMS to WMS? And how well does it ride? IE: handling decent in turns on pavement?
