That's the main reason we're going is to hit the swap meet, then prolly meet some friends, then pick up 10-15 lbs of fresh shrimp.
Well I guess you could say I am a long way from crusing in that if you walk in the shop you see the radiator and motor in front of the cab, nothing to sit on inside the cab, and no floor in in the bed. However, you will find fenders, grill, bumpers and other items removed that I have no name for. Got the fuel pump installed, new plugs and points on and heard the engine run. Also, have replaced the left rear brake and have everything ready to do the other three this week, if the Misses does not have other things in mind. What I need help on is identifying the correct color of green that was on the 1951 Ford pickup. I found a color scheme on line but it give several colors of green and I am sure some of them or for cars. The color I would like is a light green. Any help would be appreciated, even though it will be a while before getting to that part of the job. Harley
Harley, Here's a link to the Autocolor website, if this doesn't help, let me know, I'm going to the paint shop this week to pick up some candy paint and I could see what they've got listed for a 51.
Barry that is where I came up with the different colors. They show Hawthorne, Greenbrier and Sportsman, along what appears to be two-tone on a couple of these. The truck I am restoring is Navy blue, but I would like to go with the light green in that is the color of the truck I learned how drive on when I was about 12 years old. I have seen one out at lake Tiak-Okatah a couple of years ago, but was not able to converse with the owner. Thanks for your offer. If any of you want to contact me by E-mail, it is CHIEFEAVES@AOL.COM. Harley
Is the color you want..a factory color?
