Hey Harley, It wasn't that bad removing the cab as long as you have help. I used the chainfall to remove it from the frame with the help of a friend. I put it on the trailer by myself. I would recommend removing your cab so you can get everything detailed, but it depends on what type of resto you're doing. As far as primer, If you're going down to bare metal, I would use a self etching epoxy primer. I use Southern Polyurethane, I think they're the best on the market. If you ever need help on that subject, just ask, I've been painting for a long time...I haven't forgot to check you paint color on the 51, just haven't gone down there yet.

7 day window to spray on top of the epoxy primer, don't even have to sand it.
