Today I needed to move my truck from the middle of the driveway to its usual spot under the car port.....with a defunct carb, how did I do that? Keep in mind that the truck is currently not running and it weighs ~4,500lbs empty.

Ended up giving it a push with the Jeep Cherokee; it did it effortlessly, in first gear, not even barely off idle. Had to goose it just a bit to get it over a bump in the driveway, but it did the job without a problem. I love those 4.0L six engines

And I got the loaner carb yesterday, so once I get some time (this evening or tomorrow, probably), I'll stick it on there, dump some gas in the tank, and see what happens.

It never fails I check everything possible when I have truck problems and it always ends up the thing I thought was wrong to begin with. instead of testing my icm to start with, I checked everything else. And, yes that was it.

I helped a friend move his dad from his apartment to a new house, Boy does this 8 foot bed come in handy! The tommy-gate sure did get a workout today
In return, I got paid Gas money, AND I got a Brand New Cobra CB radio out of the deal

Awesome.

And yep, longbed trucks are the way to go. I think we once had an ~'87 Dodge that had a 9ft bed.

lol

Tomorrow I'm going to put the loaner carb on the truck and see what it does. I have a few vac line issues I need to tend to since the vac setups between the carbs are different.

Hopefully I can get it running!
