Has anyone with a lifted Super Duty ever manipulated their existing bumpers or used aftermarket or custom made bumpers to get the law off there back? I'm looking for ideas.
I have an '03 F250 Crewcab long bed with a ProComp 8.5" lift with 37" Toyo M/T's. According to Illinois law and one particular state trooper my bumpers are to high. 3" too high in the front and an inch too high in the back. Just looking for a clever way, that looks right, to get by.
May I ask, where are you located?
where did you get pulled over?
just curious
there are some new laws in congress right now, much more strict based on plate type for trucks based on GVWR

i had a 96 dodge 3/4 ton with 9" of lift and running 37's, and i got pulled over alot while i was stationed in Illinois. the only way i was able to get around it was to get an aftermarket bumper for the rear with a good drop-down on it. as for the front, i had tow hooks mounted to the fram on the front. depending on the cop, he may count them. i even got pulled over for not having mud-flaps, and they also said my truck tires made too much noise going down the road at 30 mph.
