Question Need some Motorcraft carb info

I have a Motorcraft 2bbl carburetor originally from a 1983 or 1984 F-150 with a 302. The carb originally had an EGR plate underneath it, but the plate was not put on my truck when I swapped it on, only the carb.

The carb has a blue Motorcraft ID tag on the top, and it lists two rows of letters and numbers. Top row is made up of large numbers and letters, and the second row is made up of smaller numbers and letters. They are:

D3TF UA
A 2K 23

(no hyphen between D3TF and UA, there's a space between them. Same with the second row)

Also, when I removed the aforementioned carburetor, there was the following underneath it:

Flat gasket
Spacer, about 1" thick
And I think another gasket.

I know at least one gasket is required, but what about this spacer? My dad and I did this swap six or seven years ago, so I'm not sure what came from where.

Any info is appreciated. This carb is about to get rebuilt and tuned so I can get my '81 back on the road.

The spacer probably takes place of the egr spacer. The manifold usually has studs, and the plain spacer is probably making everything work out like it did originally with the egr spacer.

Interesting. That makes sense.

Will I have any trouble tuning this carb to work properly on a non-EGR engine like mine? I've heard that EGR carbs are adjusted a bit leaner than non-EGR ones.
