tie rod ends

I need to change my tie rod ends on my 97 f 150. My question is in my chiltons manual it mentions inner tie rod ends. where are these located? I assume the outer ones are attached to th e wheel assy but I want to check the inners as well. Thanks for the replies.

the tie rods are only about a foot long, one one each end of the long (4 ft) steering rod. The tie rod connects to each wheel with a ball joint on the end. You can adjust the rod like a turn buckel to adjust toe in and toe out. look under the truck as someone turns the steering wheel.

4 x 4 is a little different from this front wheel drive car, but you get the idea
