How does this sound for a Torque setup??

Sorry, Its not a sound byte... But the details of what I want to do, So maybe it will be eventually.

I have a '99 Expy 5.4 thats Bone stock. I also have a Dynomax 2/1 muffler (practically a flow-thru type) and an exhaust Y. So judging from previous experience (95 cougar 4.6) Ive decided to do a 2-1-2 setup from just behind the cats.
The cats forward will still (for now) remain the factory setup, after that the pipe will open up to 2.5" to either the Y or the muffler, then 3" back to the other (Y or Muffler) From there It will run 2.5" again to duals out the back.

Im looking for the best Operation from idle (1500 rpms even) to 3000. Above that would just be nice, but Im not really up there a lot....
Id love to get extra MPGs and TQ... How will the above setup work for that??

Thanks in advance.

Jon

Sounds like a good setup to me. The Dynomax will open up some top end power too, but by keeping the system at 2 1/2" you ensure that you get the power off the line.

Well, I got 'er done on Thursday. OMG!!!! what a fight with the exhaust guy. He wasnt gonna let it go that duals were a thing of the past. I kept telling him thats the way that I wanted it, and it was off on another half hour rant.
He still didnt hook it up the way I had imagined it, as the stock Y-pipe is in there.
Now I know I could have walked away, but he was the only guy thatd meet me after work, and do it on the spot. (even charging more than anyone else, I feel it was worth it......maybe)

Well, after it was all done, It sounds awesome. Not too loud, but I can now hear the motor, at least. now I need to find the Oval tail pipes Ive been looking for...

I know this is somewhat of an old thread but any chance of a sound clip?
I want to change the sound of my 'gator, the stock exhaust note is too quiet.
I'm looking for mellow and not too obnoxious.
