Rear window

Hey there.. Im know there have been post after post over this but I cant seem to find what Im looking for... I was driving around quite a bit with front windows down, and at that time the rear window worked great, then all of a sudden I get home go to put the windows up and none work, some how the fronts started working again but since then the back one hasn't been able to go down. Wouldn't it be sluggish at one point if the motor was goin bad? Well a buddy told me that theres a regualtor under the dash that he replaced and fixed his... I located the silver box he told me about.. just wondering if anybody had this issue before and if replacing it will work.. trying to avoid removing all the crap pilled up back there from it not working. Is there a way to get to the safety switch without opening the tailgate?

Here's a pic of the silver box deal its 3 prong

My 1990 rear window works, I removed the access panel from inside the truck and lubed all the mechanisms and checked that the window motor was working, it was. The problem seemed to be that the plastic hub on the motor had rounded off to where the window wouldn't go down but the motor still spin. Got new used motor at junkyard, replaced and lubed weatherstriping, now it works.

Not sure what you pulled there but the rear window has no electrical regulator on it. It has two power feeds. One from the dash switch and one for the tailgate switch. Make sure the gate is shut all the way. If it isn't the window will not work at all.

Speaking of rear windows, I have an 83 Bronco and I think that although body styling changed in 88-89, I can still change out for a 90's rear gate and window?!@?
