With 35" tires, you have two options:

Option #1 - Install a 2"-3" leveling kit (front) and 4" blocks (rear). New shocks are needed, which are generally included in the kit. This is the least expensive option.

Option #2 - Install a 4"-5" full lift kit. New shocks are definitely needed and are included in the kit. The kit most likely will have a drop pitman arm and/or an adjustable track bar. Some kits may include a 4-link upgrade for the front suspension. Also, you may want to upgrade the rear leaf springs. This option will definitely be more expensive.

Considering that you have a PSD engine, you shouldn't need to re-gear the axles for 35" tires. If you want to see pics of these configurations, go to http://www.trucktoyzperformance.com/...earch-blue.php and enter the appropriate search criteria. Here are a few examples from the website.

Option #1 - 2.5" Leveling Kit, 35" Tires, 20" Wheels

Option #1 - 2.5" Leveling Kit, 35" Tires, 17" Wheels

Option #2 - 4.5" Lift Kit, 35" Tires, 20" Tires

Option #2 - 4.5" Lift Kit, 35" Tires, 18" Wheels

Note: The larger 20" wheels significantly change the appearance in the pics above.

Go to Fabtech's website, you can see them all there.

In the simplest of terms, a "Radius" lift kit is one that has a single radius arm (like the OEM radius arm) where a 4-link lift kit has dual radius arms. The dual radius arms provide better adjustability and performance for off-road applications.

Single Radius Arm:

Note: While these aftermarket single radius arms look cool, I question how much value (if any) that they add to the vehicle.

Dual (4-Link) Radius Arms:

Note: The BDS 4-link radius arms above are not adjustable and therefore do not provide the full benefit of the design. Fabtech, Rize, and Icon offer fully adjustable 4-link systems. There may be others as well.

Ran into a guy today in a Lowes parking lot, he has a 4.5" lift and 35" tires on a crew cab long bed, says he gets the "wobble" at about 65mph.

anyone's ever heard or experience such thing??? If so, how to defeat the wobble and what lift kit will eliminate it.

thanks,

Kenny,

With respect, there is a search feature on this website. All the questions you have been asking have been discussed many times before.

Dual steering stablizers and/or alignment cams will address the "death wobble" in the late model Super Duties. Do a search using "dual steering stabilizer" and you find many threads on this topic.

You're right Kenny! The "Search" feature is a great tool and should be utilized whenever possible. However, keep in mind that new perspectives and new product offerings are occurring all the time that will not be found in previous (older) threads.

If it feels like a few little "clunks" in the driveline when you take off, it probably means that you need to grease the slip yoke in the driveshaft. That's the connection of the two piece drive shaft (covered by a rubber boot) between the carrier bearing and the rear differential. It is another one of Ford's "non-serviceable" joints (no grease fitting). If you do a search, there's plenty on it.
