Classifieds

We are coming out with a new classifieds feature on FTE that will integrate with the forums (i.e. it will just be like making another forum post), and make your forum experience hopefully much improved.

When these new classifieds are available we will:
Disable posting to the existing classifieds
Retain the existing classifieds for reference/browsing purposes

More details to come soon.

This line "Person wants to send you a check for " is incomplete under #4 on your rules page.

I belong to an SVT forum and when they switched to this exact type of classified forum setup, they separated the SVT Lightning for sale forum from the SVT Cobra for sale forum because it was difficult to sift through all the ads to find stuff for the Lightning with their old style setup.

It's just my opinion, but in your Ford Truck Parts for sale forum, it would be nice to have sub forums specifically for gas parts for sale and diesel parts for sale.

Do you mean the parts search on the left side? Yeah, I saw that, but that means you have to specifically be looking for a certain part. You can't "window" shop for just all PSD parts or gas parts, have something jump out at you and make you go, "hey, I never thought of getting that!"

It was just a thought to make it easier for the smokers or the gassers to just peruse the classifieds without looking for a specific part.

We will add a filter for parts to allow you to search for parts:
  • Only for diesel vehicles
  • Only for gas vehicles
  • For all vehicles
Thanks for your feedback, it is a "work in progress" as we finalize details like this, so we appreciate your feedback!

We intentionally don't want to split out different parts forums specifically for vehicles, because 90% of the trucks are the same, and if you are selling a transmission, axle, or a door handle - where do you post it? For example, what happens on the SVT site if someone wants to sell a set of injectors, or some forged pistons? (could fit in both vehicles)

Lotta times they will cross post. I sold my OEM injectors to a guy who owns a Taurus SHO.

I understand what you're saying about the interchangeability of some stuff, but I was referring to stuff that doesn't fall into that catagory (V10 exhaust and intakes, PSD HPOP's, injectors, turbo's, etc), but your adding the additional filters will address the window shopping!

Thanks!

Ok, there is a mandatory checkbox now when entering parts.
One for gas engined trucks, another for diesel trucks.
Users will select both if its applicable to both.

I don't like this, I look for parts and sell parts for 73-79 ford trucks, now they will get mixed in with all the other years, which are not all interchangable, and parts are harder to find. I liked it alot better with the old classifieds. Why change something that works great. Last night everything was ok on here, turn it on tonight, now I'm all confused.
