Pilot bearing issues
Okay, so my 1988 F-150 needs the pilot bearing replaced. No big deal right? Well, I have rented three pilot bearing pullers and broke them all. So, why are they breaking? is it that its just stuck that bad or do I need a Ford specialty puller or what? because the arms on the autozone puller look to thick to grab my pilot bearing. Thanks.

Knock out the center part of the pilot bearing which will give you more room to use the puller.
This is what the backside of the bearing looks like. It has two notches where you can use a two jaw puller.
Get a quality 2 jaw slide hammer type puller where the jaws lock in place. Then give it 4 to 5 good whacks and the bearing will come out.
