Turbo V10 Excursion

Hello, can you believe I finally got my EX up and running with the custom turbo kit my brother and I created. I have it set on 7lb of boost and this thing is fun. Now my wife said I ruined it, at first it was ok but that is when it had the stock exhaust. I got tired of blowing the gasket in front of the factory cat so I installed a 4" Magnaflow system for a diesel EX, WOW did this help. It felt like I took the boost up to 15lb even though it was the same 7lb. Im wanting to get it on the rollers but back surgery has the cash flow very low right now. If I had to guess I would say it's puttin down somewhere north of 450 to the wheels.. My delima now is she wants me to take it off and sell it. Anyone on here know of someone willing to turbo their EX like I did. LOL I will try and get pictures up later.

You need more posts. I think you have to have 20 posts before being able to do pictures.

You could always upload to a photobucket account and post the [img] link here.

We are all dying to see it.

I have a vid somewhere of a short power brake to spool it up then layin down about 80 feet of rubber. It's totally amazing for a 7300# vehicle. It totally kills my brothers 02 F250 PS that is all juiced up. I will tell you this, the fuel milage with the turbo is amazing. I had an honest half tank, drove 20 miles round trip to work and back, then 50 miles to pick my parents up and another 50 to the airport then 43 back home.. didn't even use a 1/4 tank.. I can reset the trip computer and it will show me 18 on a long trip..

you've peaked my interest.........

did you remote mount the turbo (STS style) in place of the muffler....... or do you have it mounted inside the engine compartment........

and so i don't break the rules......... where are you located, and email me pics, prices, ect...... to Jason@team-mudd-racing.com !!

i have to many projects going right now, between home improvements, and atvs, and work, i don't need it but with the lack of a root type S/C out for the V10's the turbo has been peaking my interest more and more!!

shoot me some info!

I think you have touched a nerve with all of us V10 owners. Please post some links or something. This sounds like Christmas in September!!

Christmas in September

I wish I knew what all links to post. I might try to set up a web site with my zoomtown if I can figure out how to do it. Can anyone check my album out in my profile page on here? I put 15 photos of the build in there. All I can say is the V10 responds well to boost. The acceleration is unreal. Let me know what you would like to see or know.

Jason, this is what I emailed to you. You asked about making kits.
also, I live about 20 miles north of Cincinnati, Right off of I75.

I talked to my brother about that, He is my welder. I thnk it's something we would both like to do. I found a couple ways to make the build quicker and economical. I'm working on an idea I have now of taking 2 ford lightning lower intake manifolds and cutting them in half. 3 cylinders and 2 cylinders and welding them together. The lightning W to A intercooler will support 800hp. Then the turbo could be plumbed directly into the intake. I already have an intake wire cut in half. i've been looking for another cheap intake so I can piece them together and make it work. I'm in the middle of purchasing a very high milage V10 from my buddy at the salvage yard to do some mock up work on. If I would have to guess I would say 7lb of boost doubled my RWHP.. I can't wait to get it on the dyno..
