Chrome tow hooks missing

I purchased an 09 F-150 XLT 4x4 with the chrome package on it. It has the chrome door handles, step bars, exhaust tip and wheels. The one thing that it appears to be missing is the chrome tow hooks. It did come with the black tow hooks. I didn't realize it right away unfortunately so now I am not getting much help from my dealer. The chrome tow hooks are listed in the chrome package with an option price of 1420. My window sticker lists the chrome package with a price of 1420 but does not list all the items in the chrome package. Anyway, has this happened to anyone else?

Should be included for sure.

You are being hosed by dealer. Either factory did wrong (I highly, highly doubt it), or, excuse my cynicism, the dealer swapped them out to another customer for whatever reason.

Good luck.

If you have the "paper trail" stating that you should indeed have the chrome tow hooks I'd keep laying into the dealer. They don't have much of a leg to stand on if you have the printed document/proof. I would even consider getting dealer management into it.

Fwiw, you may want to look under the truck to where the hooks are bolted, and see if it looks like the bolts have been tampered with. They could have swapped out hooks for another customer, and not wanting to take the fall for it now.

if you need a copy of the order guide, which clearly states chrome tow hooks are part of the XLT Chrome Package, just let me know and I can email you a PDF copy of it.

Why? Factory screws things up all the time.

I have the chrome package on mine and yes you should have them mine does. If you have a dealer brosure it will also list the chrome tow hooks as part of the package. I had a problem with a torn door panel on my mustang, all the dealer said was "if it was ripped then why did you take delivery of it" to that response I called Ford, and they put me on a three way call with the dealer manager, guess what the next day a new door panel was installed. Try your salesman sometimes they will help especially if you are a repeat customer, if not work your way up the food chain, in that back of your owners manual is a number for Ford customer care call it I have never had a problem after that, and also ask them do they have a dealer they can recommend because the one you are dealing with sucks, Ford recommended one for me.

I respectfully disagree. Ok, maybe I should say it is less likely the factory screwed up.

Just an opinion, like yours.

I agree the dealer is more likely to 'swap' something out but it wouldn't be hard to put the wrong tow hooks on at the line.

the factory can screw up, there was a picture going around a year or so ago of a new 07/08 F150 that had a wrong headlight on one side - it had the rectangular style headlight from the Lincoln Mark LT, while the other side had the stock F150 headlight.

Thank you everyone for your input. The truck I bought was a dealer trade from another local Ford Dealer. I have bought several vehicles from this dealer and salesman. I have always had good luck and no hassles with this dealer. Unfortunately, this deal has seemed different. I also didn't realize this error for a couple of months. I am assuming it was an oversight from the factory but cannot attest that it was not swapped at one of the dealerships. My salesman says that they are going to talk to the factory rep and see what can be done but wasn't giving me a lot of hope. I will wait for his response before I start working my way up. Thanks again for your input.
