new 2011 superduty
just saw a release of the new 2011 superduty, including pictures and video's. the 6.7l sounds like a power house, but no numbers yet. hopefully they have done there homework on this engine. They also mentioned the new 6.2l gas will also be avilable, also no numbers yet. no mention if there keeping the V10. Looked like only a lite refreshing of the front end.

Im kinda looking forward to it, but at the same time, like alot of others, Im hesitant.
Anyone can market something and tell us its great, has lots of power, better mileage, etc., but I wanna know for sure before I get one!
Im in the market for a new truck, but might just wait a year after these bad boys are out on the streets to get one.
If everything they say holds true, it should really be a hell of a diesel again, the next 7.3 legacy!

Ask around Morris, its a well known fact that there were very problematic 6.0's(ive literally talked to thousands of guys while fueling up, and out in the alberta oil patch about their 6.0 trucks and have heard about very frequently). Now if yours has been great, you got one of the good ones and consider yourself lucky! (there were good ones )
People come on here to figure out there problems, but read around in the 6.0 forums a little bit. Youll notice trends, and very common problems, that arent small ones in a larger number of trucks.
Plus the whole lawsuit and breakup between navistar and ford, well it wasnt over nothing!
Either which way Im hoping for minimal problems with the new 6.7 liter too. I also wonder how its gonna be for the guys that wanna modify it...
I also wonder how its gonna do for economy.
Im used to 25 mpg highway with my truck and a light foot, and would love more power AND the same mileage!

stock for stock, i think the '05-up 6.0's weren't that bad. Prep, i'd bet you dollars to doughnuts that the guys you talk with from the patch have them modded in some way, shape or form, and many of them run the snot out of rigs up there...if a vehicle is going to fail, riggers can make them do it.
i for one, wouldn't hesitate to buy a later model 6.0 if i had the need and spare cash...i await laredo to come here and spout off about his problems...

Some of the guys I talked to had mods, but the majority of them were stock trucks, alot of them were company trucks (and would have gotten driven harder then others)
To be honest it it seemed like it was just the 6.0 engine was the common factor. One thing is though, alot of guys said they were happy and had less problems when they threw headstuds in.
Also on the years thing, it didnt seem to make much of a difference what years they were. One guy I remember talking to had a sweet brand new 07 truck, set up as a welding truck, and it had less then 20K on it, and he had to get damn near the whole engine replaced piece by piece. He actually had a 97 last of the old body style F350's he used alot for a backup.
