E4od torque converter installation

As the t/c is installed push and turn until it clicks, repeat for a total of 4 times. This is the original t/c that has been rebuilt so it wil definetly fit.As it is lined up the splines mesh on the first 3 and the 4the ,I believe is the intermediate clutch there seems to be some difficulty.Would there possibly be that it is not in neutral that is causeing thhis?Could use helpful info asap to be up and running asap. Thanks

Not four, three steps in, and when the E4OD converter is properly seated the outer hub will be ¼" below the matting surface as measured off the bell housing face via a straight edge.

I was hoping you guys could help me on this as well. I cant get me t/c in all the way yet, i get it as far as where the studs are flush with the bell housing but i know it needs to go another 1/2 inch or so. Is their any tricks to getting it in the last bit? I have turned and pushed and everything for a couple hours and still have no luck.

Could a torque converter not be completely seated and you still be able to install the transmission? If so, what would happen?

This would happen when bolting the trans to the engine or something that would happen over time?

Thanks!

It would happen as soon as the engine was started.

Usually you must replace the torque converter and the pump. Everything else will be fine.

Thanks. I'll try the method with it standing and hope it goes in fully. As of now that and my new tie rod ends that I haven't put on yet are the only things keeping me from getting my truck on the road
