Mileage programmers

I was looking for different things related to getting better mileage. I came across 2 different programmers that were called "mileage programmers." Supposed to get better mileage, but through a programmer. Does anyone have any experience with these type of programmers? Any and all help is appreciated.

Lot's of different programmers out there. Even more different types of gimmick stuff that promises amazing results. The best thing to do is tell us what year your truck is and what motor you have and someone here can share their experience with their tuner on the same type of truck.

Many tuners can get you a slight increase in mileage, but depending on how much you drive and your driving style, the payback may be in years or never. Keep in mind that these programmers also add horsepower, which can make the truck more fun to drive. If you give into the temptation and mash on the skinny pedal more often due to the tuner, then while you might be having fun, your MPG's will likely go down.

Which specific programmers are you interested in?

one thing to remember is the rear axle ratio and the stock size tires. the factory put anywhere from a 30 inch tire to a 34 inch tire on these trucks. the weight of the wheels and tires as well as the diameter will make a differenc in mpgs. and what was said above simplified...... the best way to improve your milage is to keep an eye on your right foot

No amount of savings on fuel will pay for a $400 programmer

Driving style is the most important factor, followed closely by weight
(all else being equal)
a two by four under the accelerator will help the most
driving like a thin shelled raw egg is under the accelerator is good too

but what fun is that !!!
