'55 wiper motor

If I switch from the vacume wiper motor to an electric, will there be more room for a radio installation behind the dash ? How did the vacume units perform and is there any interest in them today ?
Thanks, Joe

Hey Joe, I'm doing some wiper motor work on my '56 which already came with elec. but mine went south. In looking for ideas I ran across a member here by the name of cowman and he did a great job adapting a wiper motor from a Jeep Cherokee to his '55, excellent work. I'm going to try this on my '56. This is just FYI Joe that you might be interested in. Plenty of room for a radio!!! God Bless,
Roland

If you don't want to modify one from a later model to fit, Newport Engineering probably offers an electric 2 speed that is a bolt in replacement.
