Question What is this?

So am getting underway on the truck, and noticed something that aint quite right. I didnt think much of it at first, but since ive been looking at getting a enw set of valve covers, i noticed there isnt any holes for this on new covers. so, what is this?

it comes off the front of the left valve cover, runs to the rear of the right cover, then goes down

down....

down to the bottom of the block

where it connects to the block, right next to the oil filter, which is in red.

anyone wanna shed some light on this? its ona '59 292 y

External oiler kit for the rocker assy. Common on some Y-blocks.

It was installed because the blocks oil passages were becoming restricted & not getting enough oil to the Rocker Arm assembly.
When you finally rebuild/re-manufacture the block, you wont need it.
