I'm considering buying an early bronco. I'm thinking about finding a newer explorer with a 4.0 and swaping it into the bronco, changing the gears, computers, and driveline completely. I'm curious how much the curb weight of one of these is so I can compare how much power I might loose or gain due to weight difference. (my V6 explorer has plenty of power for me. lol) also did anyone make an a/c kit for these? it might be nice to have on those rainy days when I had to use a top.

Empty weight on my 66 half cab 2955 lbs. My 76 and son's 77 is 3550 lbs. Yes there were AC units made and still are available. As far as the V6 swap, check classicbroncos.com.
Thanks, I appreciate it, but I think if I get one, I'm just going to pull the 289 hipo out of my thunderbird, and put it in there, making room for something bigger in the bird, if I keep it that is. lol

yeah, thats why I'd rather use it in something that I plan on building back to stock, instead of messing with it too much and ruining it by using it for a built up motor. lol 260 horse power in a bronco would be plenty!!! lol
