ammco ( spelling?) advertises free diagnostics, at least the one in north Austin.
Hope it helps.

Ok so what is this piece of equipment called so i dont go to the shop sounding like an idiot? Im pretty knowledgable when it comes to cars and motor mechanics but Ive never heard of a tool that just reads transmission codes. Learn somethin new everyday i guess.

Thanks guys. I have an AMMCO shop in my neighborhood and I just talked to him and he said its almost deffinately that sensor in the differential. I told him the codes i pulled and he said one of them meant that cylinder 3 was misfiring. Any ideas on that?

Most likely a bad plug or a bad cop.

If it is a PSD, it is not a plug or coil.
I have no idea on that, you should ask in the forum for that motor.

Either have I.

You need an OBDII scan tool that has Ford specific software so that it can read ALL Ford codes, including transmission codes.

Sorry about that, did not realize it was a diesel, forget about the plugs and cops, need to get into the diesel forum to get going on an answer for that.

Something off the wall but did this happen right after reconnecting the batteries as in could be a fuse. Check fuse 24 in the battery junction box under the hood. This fuse feeds the electrical power to all three solenoids

This happened over a year ago. Why bring this old thread back to the top?
