78 coolant overflow bottle

I tried that once...I about had a heart attack when the homemade mount let go with a quart of coolant split on the driveway. I was ready to call a yard at last.

I think it's safe to assume we've all been there at one time or another, i've done my fair share of jerry-rigging lol.

X2, my 79 have a recovery bottle from the factory but not my '78.

No such thing was available factory installed until 1980 excepting 1973/74 F100 240 I-6 2WD & M/T.
Basic part number is 8A080, here's the page (upper) from the parts catalog. 8522 is the basic number for the dealer installed kit (lower pic).

For what it's worth, I purchased one of these from LMC for a motorhome project I have, and I was pleasantly surprised on the quality and price. I should buy another for the orange truck....

The truck is not currently with me but once it is I will look at bracket. I know it's not just sitting there. It is attached to the front end frame.
