Soft Tonneau Cover

New truck is due to arrive in a couple of weeks. I will get a soft tonneau cover, but which one? Wish Ford still offered the factory option which my 01 had. Great cover for the price and was part of the 3/36000 warrenty.

Suggestions? How are the Ford accessory ones? I really like that one from 01 as it didn't have snaps.

I am not interested in the hard covers, folding ones, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Funny you should ask since I am getting one this week. I have decided on the Extang Trifecta. Gets great reviews. Only downside I don't like is it folds up in 1/3's so on a 5 1/2 foot box I loose even more however it's really easy to remove. Price around here is $399.

I had the extang blackmax on my 97 and it was a very quality piece. My 09 will probably get the extang classic platinum. I like the bows and snaps. It reminds me of the old classic roadsters that had a tonneau over the passenger seat. They are cheap and easy to get into anywhere around the bed. They can be problematic when its cold though. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

The access roll up cover is great. Have one on my 09 f150 and on my 2001 dodge ram. Not a cheap cover, about $475. The new style is more water tight than earlier ones. I love it.

X2 on the Access Cover. I had one on my 2002 F150 SuperCrew and it was the first purchase I made for my 2009 150! aliasmax is correct about the new ones being sealed better. These covers look great, function great and last a long time. Not cheap, but as the saying goes....

The access cover is the standard roll up cover held in place by velcro right? If so how does the velcro hold up over time?

I think I'm going to give the Lorado a try.

Seems to have the bulk of specifications I'm looking for.

I have had a couple of Truxedo brand covers on different trucks and I have no complaints. Quality stuff.

I love the Extang Full Tilt. You can see what it looks like in one of my galleries. Has the looks of the soft tonneau (think they make it without snaps now), the functionality of a hard tonneau (can be removed in like 6 seconds by yourself), and can be rolled up if needed on the road. Its the best of all worlds IMO.

That looks pretty nice I might look into that myself. I want a cover that i can quickly remove the whole thing, but it needs to be good and waterproof, thats one of my main concerns. So just how waterproof are these? About the cheapest hardcover I can find is going to be $900 and then you cant roll it back for something tall on short notice either.

Well they have weatherstripping that runs down the bedrails, and there are foam ends at all 4 corners that help seal. I have honestly never noticed any water in the bed... but I am not sure if its 100% proof.

Well I dont expect 100%, even my truck cap leaked a little in spots. I just dont want to have to worry about bag of clothes and gear in the back and drive through a rainstorm guranteed getting wet.

I also see Extang makes one that is designed to go on a truck with a toolbox. I was really wanting the Undercover (hard cover) Box buddy thats like this but they dont make one for my truck. Anyone happen to have the Extang ToolBox one and how well it seals to the toolbox?

I am liking the Truxedo Lo Pro QT. Looks like a well made and easy to use cover.

The dealers floor sample didn't have an easy (no tools) way to remove the tonneau cover, but he said the new design has a release level similiar to the rear to take the cover off. Anyone have comments on that?

I see that the new tonneau covers don't seem to have bowed braces. Any issues with water/snow building up on it?

Thanks again
