Great slide show. Will the 6.7 be available in the 2010 model year or just the 2011's

That was good. The poor engineers have a hard time pronouncing it all, but very well explained. Best of all, CAB ON REPAIRS!

That's why there are acronyms such as SCR, DEF, CGI, DPF, HPCR, etc.

The 6.7 will start out in the 2011 models....not available in the 2010.

You should be able to see and hear one as early as March of 2010

The part that concerns me is..

All the attention to noise controll. I mean, it's an oil burner for cripes sake - it's going to make noise.

The end result is, more cost passed on to the consumer because of the special care for noise AND more PITA for technicians when it comes to that concern.

how come they are going to release the 2011's so early? then again if you have a 2010 keep it cause there aren't going to be many of them out there and they'll probably be collectors down the road....haha

but honestly why the first quarter and not the fourth?

I think the primary reason is the expiration of the Navistar engine contract 12/31/09 as well as the 2010 emissions that kick in 1/1/2010 which the 6.4 doesn't currently meet.

Compliment

This article compliments the slide show and seem like it might have been directly taken form there and put in written form.

First Look: Ford's All-New 6.7-Liter V-8 Power Stroke Diesel Engine - PickupTrucks.com News

The engine shows great promise and only time will tell. If I ever decide to upgrade the '01 F-350 7.3, this just may be it; but I'll let some of you be the first to try.

So, the heated Urea tank is going to drain the batteries in cold climates? Explain how this system is going to work.
